For the second time I got on a bus filled with people dedicating a whole week of their summer in Oxford Ohio to study and celebrate Latin and the classic world. We drove for 8 hours with only one stop for lunch to get to Miami University for the 2025 national latin convention.

Day 0: At 8 am we left Flint Hill secondary school on a bus. 9 hours later we were at Miami university. I unpacked my bags and went to dinner, the rest of Edison had not arrived yet. After dinner we went to fellowship. At fellowship the state officers talked about what we would do for the rest of the week.
Day 1: In the morning I registered my graphic arts for judging and later that afternoon walked the 30 minute hike to the general assembly. That night after dinner I walked to the student center to unpack what we had brought for agora this year. Agora continued on days 2 and 3. After fellowship we filmed a “Night before spirit: video to put on our social media.

Day 2: everyone from Edison met up in the lobby of our dorms to work on what we had brought to agora. This year we hand made Latin themed press on nails and earrings, along with the xylospongium pencils from last year. All of Virginia was wearing our state t-shirt for spirit at GA.
Day 3: Today at the graphic arts viewing I could see that my pen drawing had made the top three. There were many wonderful other art projects. The NJCLers are very talented.
Day 4: Day 4 was the last day of spirit. We wore our brightest blue shirt for the last day. At night the SCL posted that entertainment. It was a great show but the videos the SCL had made had no audio.

Day 5: the last day of convention. The award ceremony was today during GA. Edison won first place in social media and second place for best Latin club. At night there was the farewell dance.
The next morning I woke up, packed everything back up into my suitcase and got back on the bus. There's nothing I would change about this year's convention (except maybe make GA closer). I had an amazing time at convention and can't wait to go back again next year.
