Monday August 18th was the first day of school for Edison high school. The Latin classes and clubs wasted no time before jumping right back into the swing of things. In my IB Latin 1 class we did an escape box using puzzles with roman numerals and translated Latin to English to find clues. In Latin club that afternoon Emily Fontana and Eric Cobb filmed the Nicki Minaj Heels trend in one of the courtyards on top of Ecce Romani books in Roman attire.
Tuesday we had a field trip to listen to the newest translation of the Aeneid. The reading took place at 7 pm at Politics & Prose, a Bookstore in DC. It took the authors around 6 years to complete translating the entire Epic Poem and it originally began as a college project.
Wednesday was Eagle Soar, an event behind the football field to showcase clubs for the students. Edison Latin had a table and we decorated it with our banner.
This is going to be a good year for Edison Latin club.
